The Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches - Province USA recently held their annual Synod in Hutchinson, KS. Bishops from coast to coast were present to discuss, debate, and accomplish several goals for the American-based province.

One of those goals was establishing the Missionary Diocese of St. Anthony, led by Bishop Ed Gungor. This diocese will serve as the home base to many churches and clergy, many of whom reside in the Great Plains and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. Bishop Gungor currently leads the Order of St. Anthony, a community of people committed to living an ordered life through a rule of prayer, worship, and fellowship.

Among the highlights of the week was a stirring sermon from Bishop Daniel Williams at the Wednesday evening service at The Father's House. Bishop Williams' sermon, which looked at the crossing of the Red Sea and the wedding at Cana, addressed answers to prayer versus miracles and how we should respond to each.

“Synod 2017 was a great time of prayer and discerning what the Lord is calling the USA Province to do,” said Bishop Quintin Moore, Presiding Bishop of CEEC USA. “We accomplished a lot of things which will be impacting the Body of Christ for years to come. I’m excited to see what the Lord has planned for the CEEC USA in the future.”
